The Facts About Losing Weight
Although Americans are obese, they do not want to lose weight and find many ways to avoid facing their problem of being overweight. They go in for fad diets, which range from cabbage soup to diets consisting of only juice. They also try to go in for weight loss supplements which claim to cut down on pounds without effort. There are those who just pay others to help them lose weight.
All this boils down to laziness, which is the cause of weight gain in the first place. While the Americans don’t want to lean how to keep weight off or even lose it, they don’t want to take credit for the fact that they are gaining weight.
Due to this, weight loss companies are in good business. A larger problem is lack of responsibility towards oneself. People think that their situation is out of their control, when in reality they can control it. The temporary solutions that people go in for don’t work in the long term.

When a person is with a nutritionist, they learn how to eat healthy. Working out also helps, since a personal trainer will help them get the right moves and routines. Laziness is implied when a person just invests in a diet. If effort is not put into getting rid of weight, it will come back.
The ground reality is that the culprit is calories. While there are healthy foods beyond the calories, the calories are the reasons of weight gain. Taking in less calories than you burn helps lose weight. It’s a simple law of subtraction. You burn calories by exercising. And the calories burned minus the calories eaten in a day will show you how much weight you can lose.
While these basics do not give you results overnight, they do work since they are realistic. A routine exercise program and a low calorie diet helped me lose 72 pounds. It was not fun, but I was successful since I made good choices and did not try short cuts. If I could, you too can do it.
